Great Start

Three meetings in to my first season in the Formula 4 British Championship and it’s fair to say I’m delighted with the success I’ve achieved so far!

The season started in amazing fashion at Brands Hatch at the start of April as I won my second ever race in the series!

Formula 4 is a really difficult championship to win in, so to take a victory so early in the year was an amazing feeling.

With two fourth place finishes as well, I really couldn’t have asked for much more from my first weekend in single-seater racing, and our great start continued at Donington Park three weeks later with another podium result.

We finished in the top six in each of the opening six races of the season, and from there we went on to the fastest race circuit in the UK,  Thruxton – where we reach over 130mph!

While we had a tougher outing there, we lie a great fourth in the championship standings.

I can’t thank my team Arden Motorsport, my sponsors 1st Central Insurance and Ravenscroft, and everyone around me for all their support in getting me this far.

We worked really hard over the winter to be prepared for the season and it really feels like that effort is paying off.

It’s not all been too serious though, as earlier this month I got the great opportunity to head to Rockingham and compete in my first 24 hour race … in a little Citroen C1!

We were part of a fifty car grid of identical cars and it was a really fun event.

It was great experience for me to compete in my first endurance race and tackle racing in the dark for the first time. I shared the car with my Dad Andy, Alan Gow and Richard Solomons, and we came away with a top ten finish which was brilliant.

I’m back on Formula 4 duty at Oulton Park in Cheshire on 9/10 June, and I’m going to be giving it everything to enjoy some more success. Make sure you tune in to the live coverage on ITV4 and follow our updates on my social media channels.

Thank you to everyone for your support so far and hopefully I’ll be able to tell you all about more success in my next blog.
